Metering

A light meter takes the image that you are focusing on and makes it middle gray. Everything darker than the focus will be dark and anything lighter is light. In the first picture I metered my partners skin in the dark which made her middle gray and since the computer screen in a lot brighter than the skin, the computer screen looks really bright in the picture. In the second picture I metered the computer screen and took a picture of my partner. Since they are darker than the computer screen, they are darkened and not scene in the picture.
